Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions parents ever make. I am delighted that you want to discover more about our thriving, vibrant village school.
Ewell Grove champions the right of children to have access to high quality education in their local community. The overarching aim of Ewell Grove is to be, and always remain, a school of excellence both in academic and social terms. We regard our establishment as a community that provides both context and opportunities for children to develop an understanding of cohesion, tolerance and respect. We develop high aspirations for our pupils and in return families have exacting expectations of us.
We recognise the significance of inclusion and diversity within educational settings and the imperative to create and celebrate success for everyone. Through our school ethos and values, policies and practices we aim to eradicate discrimination and barriers to learning whilst improving participation and achievement for all.
As children move through our school, from their earliest formative years, we build upon the experiences they have already gained. With our school foundations firmly rooted in Early Years principles we believe that the curriculum we offer must nurture, preserve and cherish the uniqueness of childhood.
I hope our website provides you with a ‘feel’ for the ethos and values that underpin everything we do; and that it inspires you to visit our unique school. I look forward to meeting your family and welcoming you into our Ewell Grove community.

Ewell Grove is a Community Primary and Nursery School for children aged 3 to 7 years. However, Nursery places are administered separately and parents should be aware that there is no automatic progression from our Nursery into the Main school.
Nursery – 3 & 4 years old
Children start in the September after their third birthday
Applications are accepted by the School Office a year before they are due to start
All applications must be in on the same date as main school applications in the year that they are due to start
Places are offered as soon as practically possible after this
In the event of there being more than 52 applications Surrey’s admission criteria shall be used.
The decision of the Governing Body, delegated to the Headteacher, will be final.
Once Nursery places have been allocated, any late applications after the published closing date will be put on a waiting list and considered, in line with existing Main School Policy, on distance from the School.
Reception – 4 & 5 years old
Children start in the September after their fourth birthday. Surrey County Council is the admission authority for Ewell Grove. To find up to date information about the Ewell Grove’s admission arrangements and details on how to apply, either as part of the normal intake or during the school year, please use this link to the Surrey County Council website.
Preparation for the School
The Induction Programme for all Nursery and Reception cohorts takes place in the Summer term prior to starting.
Children will have the opportunity to visit the school on a number of occasions to meet their teachers and mix with the other children who will be in their class.
Parents will have the opportunity to find out much more about Ewell Grove and general organisation.
There will also be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and meet many of the people who will be responsible for various aspects of your child’s education or development. An Induction Pack containing a range of issues surrounding the build up to starting school will be given out at the Parent’s Meetings.
