Below are the 3 tabs that you will see.

On this tab, you can buy multiple items with the points you have received from completing slayer tasks.
  • Buy Slayer Experience
You can spend 400 Slayer Points and gain 10,000 slayer exp instantly.
  • Buy Ring of Slaying
For 75 points you can buy a Ring of Slaying.
  • Buy Runes for Slayer Dart
For 35 points you can buy 250 Casts of Slayer Dart. Each cast consists of 4 Mind Runes and 1 Death Rune.
  • Buy Broad Bolts
For 35 points you will receive 250 Broad Bolts.
  • Buy Broad Arrows
For 35 points you will receive 250 Broad Arrows.

On this tab, you can learn multiple skills.
  • Broad Bolt/Arrow
These offer a cheaper way to range your slayer tasks. They cost 50 GP each for 3,000 unfinished. You will need to add feathers for them before you can use.

  • Ring of Slaying
The Ring of Slaying is made from 1 Gold bar and 1 Enchanted gem. It requires 75 Crafting to make. When you right click the ring, it offers 4 teleports (Sumona, Slayer Tower, Slayer Dungeon and Tarn's Lair). The 5th option is available so you can check your task.

  • Slayer Helmet
You can spend 400 points to learn how to make the Slayer Helm. It is quite useful because it gives a larger defense bonus than any of the items separately. There is a 15% Attack and Strength bonus from the Black mask that only appears during a Slayer assignment. This will give you a boost in the max hit you can do against a monster. You can acquire the knowledge on how to make this item from any of the Slayer masters.
You will need at least level 55 Crafting to make the helmet after gaining points to learn how to make it. Also you will need 10 Defense to wear it.

This tab is very useful when it comes to dealing with tasks that you are wanting to skip or block.

  • Cancel Assignment
You can spend 30 Slayer Points and cancel the task you are currently assigned. This is helpful if you get a task you do not wish to complete. This will make it act like you have just completed a task and you will be able to talk to any Slayer Master to receive another task. NOTE: You do have a chance to get the same task you canceled.

  • Never Assign Monster Again
You can spend 100 Slayer Points and permanently block a task. As you notice in the screenshot, this slayer will never be assigned the five tasks that are listed at the bottom. The number of blocked tasks you are allowed is related to your Quest Points. If you will be allowed 1 blocked task for every 50 Quest Points you have; you are allowed up to 5 blocked tasks. If you wish, you can remove a monster from the blocked list, however, you will not get the 100 points back that you spent to block them originally. You must also receive the task before you can block it.

FAQ

Do I get normal combat experience when training Slayer?
Yes, you will get experience like normally, in all fighting styles.

Are there any assignments that requires a completion of a quest before I can carry on that assignment?
No. You will only be assigned to kill the monsters you have access to.

Do I get slayer XP if two are fighting on the same monster in mulicombat areas?
You will get 50% experience if you deal the most damage, and you will get 50% experience if you do the last hit. If you hit most, and did the last hit, you will get 100%, if you didn't hit last, nor hit most, you won't get any XP at all.

How much experience do I get when killing monsters?
You will almost always get 1/10 of the monster's life points. For instance, the Goblins have 50 life points. So you will get 5 XP by fighting them. However, if you fight Hobgoblins in level 28, you will get 29 XP, since it has 290 life points.

Do I get XP from killing the Slayer creatures?
Only if you are assigned to kill them by a Slayer Master. If the Slayer monster isn't your current task, you won't get any Slayer XP.

Slayer - The Basics

Slayer is a members only skill which sees players assigned a specific amount of a certain monster to kill by a Slayer master. The monsters assigned vary depending on the Slayer master used but they can range from the humble spider right up to the mighty Nihil, Tormented demons and Glacors. As you advance your Slayer level new monsters are unlocked, some of them requiring special items to defeat. There are some monsters that can only be killed whilst on a Slayer task.

To start training Slayer, go to a Slayer master and ask for an assignment. They will assign you the task of killing a certain amount of monsters for them. If you are unhappy with or unable to complete your assignment you can either visit the master in Taverley who will give you something new free of charge but at the expense of your Slayer task streak. Alternatively you can use some of the points obtained from successfully completing consecutive tasks to cancel the assignment and ask for a new one (for more information on Slayer Points, click here).

Most Slayer assignments can be found in one of the several Slayer dungeons across Gielinor and the Chaos Tunnels are also home to many of the common assignments. In some cases it is possible to kill a monster related to the one you have been assigned, for example black dragon tasks can be completed by killing the King black dragon or the Queen black dragon. For skilled monster hunters this is often preferable due to the improved loot and greater challenge.

Slayer Aides

There are a number of items in the game that help with Slayer, many of them making it quicker to complete tasks or helping with drops.

Slayer Masters & Assignments

Slayer masters are responsible for assigning players with monsters to kill, the higher your combat and Slayer levels the better masters you have access to. Note that some Slayer tasks require certain quests to be completed in order to access them. In addition to their standard assignments, each master has a Special Task which is unique to them and different to a normal task. These tasks tend to be more dangerous however successful completion of the task grants extra Slayer experience.

Reward: 50,000 Slayer XP
Description: Some small fragments have Seren have made it into areas of conflict and Morvran wishes for you to retrieve them so that they may be cleansed. To do this you are required to kill each of the following: Araxxi, Commander Zilyana, Dagannoth Prime, Dagannoth Rex, Dagannoth Supreme, General Graardor, Giant mole (Hard Mode), Kalphite Queen, King Black Dragon, Kree'arra, K'ril Tsutsaroth & the Queen Black Dragon.
Notes: You will receive a dark crystal for each boss you kill which must be carried when fighting the subsequent bosses. These crystals give you various debuffs such as reduced melee damage therefore it is advised you work from hard to easy, starting with Araxxi and finishing with the Giant Mole/King black dragon.

*Aquanites, Muspah and Nihil are not automatically assigned by Kuradal or Morvran, they must be purchased using Slayer points. After purchasing them, you can visit any Slayer master to toggle them off again.

Alternative Monsters

A large number of Slayer assignments are not restricted to the exact monster you have been assigned, many can be completed by killing monsters "related" to the one assigned. Many high levelled Slayers use this to their advantage to improve the profitability of Slayer or just for more of a challenge. Below is a table of popular alternatives to the monsters assigned.

Slayer Creatures & Drops

Whilst levelling up Slayer you learn how to kill new and more dangerous opponents. These monsters can only be killed once you have reached the required Slayer level and some of them require special items to be killed which can be purchased from any Slayer master. Additionally some monsters, even when unlocked, can only be killed when assigned to do so by your Slayer master.

When killing some slayer creatures there is a chance that an elite version will spawn. For information on these please see the Elite Monsters section.

Slayer masks are obtainable from the Treasure Hunter minigame. The masks have many uses including: forcing a Slayer Master to assign you the relevant task, providing a small experience boost when killing the monster the mask is for (regardless of being on task or not), providing two daily teleports to the location of the monster the mask relates to, double drops every 10th kill and stats identical to the slayer helmet when on task. Once the mask has upgraded to a helm you can no longer gain bonus experience or double drops.
